Heavy-Duty Ship Augers are intended to be used with our Heavy-Duty Treehouse Attachment Bolts (TAB). Heavy-Duty and Standard TABs will require a 3″ Speedbor and one of the auger bits.

During installation, the inside cutting plane shaves the hole radius for clean smooth holes without pressure. A hex shank provides a secure gripping surface for the drill chuck. The cutting edges on these bits can be resharpened. A heavy-duty corded drillis recommended when installing treehouse bolts.

Our Heavy-Duty TAB installation process consists of two stages:

Drilling into the tree with the 3″ Speedbor Self-feeding bit. This is to fit the collar portion of the TAB into the tree.
Drilling into the same hole with a 1″ or 1″ auger bit. This is to fit the stem portion of the TAB into the tree.

The inside cutting plane shaves the hole radius for clean smooth holes without pressure. A removable, replaceable feed screw draws the bit into the gummiest of woods effortlessly. A hex shank provides a secure gripping surface for the drill chuck.
